Fall 2015The school year is in full swing and we are looking forward to making our big move soon. I am so excited to be the ILS here at Compass/GAP and also Aldine's Library Systems Administrator. Teachers and students have had the opportunity to request books using the online library catalog accessible here. If you need further assistance, there is a video on the How To Video section of my website. Another way to request books and materials is through a Google form found here.
Students can also request books. If they do not have access to a computer, then you can use the same form above to request books for them. We hope that our Compass/GAP students are spending time reading and building their vocabulary each day. If you need me, I am located in the Orientation room by the main office at Compass and also on the 2nd floor of the Resource Center. Email probably works best and saves you a few steps! I'll be happy to help you use our libraries and our online resources. Just ask! ~~Elizabeth |
HS Read It ForwardCompass High School students are participating in Read It Forward 2015, sponsored by Aldine ISD. The book is Unwind by Neil Shusterman. It is a Dystopian novel that follows Connor, Risa, and Lev throughout their struggles of being labeled as an "unwind." Students will read the novel, sign the inside cover, and pass it along to another student. This is the first time that our students have had this opportunity to participate in Read It Forward. Our Middle School students will have the same opportunity after we move to the new school. The Middle School book is The Great Green Heist by Varian Johnson. Library Services has donated copies of each book for our students.
